Supply Allocation Calculation and Inbound Shipment

Based on the preference setting or based on the predetermined schedules NetSuite can perform supply allocation calculations automatically. The following are different supply allocation calculations,

Automated Real-Time – NetSuite calculates allocation automatically in real-time if we set the Perform Supply Allocation After Transaction Entry, Update or Delete preference.

Calculates allocation each time a demand order is created, edited, or deleted (Sales Order, Transfer Order, Work Order).

NetSuite calculates allocation each time a supply order is created, edited, or deleted (Purchase Order, Transfer Order, Work Order).

NetSuite calculates allocation for each order line.

Reallocation whenever supply falls below allocated quantities

On-Demand – NetSuite calculates allocation for demand orders using the Allocate Orders page.

Scheduled – NetSuite calculates allocation automatically for demand orders based on schedules using the Order Allocation Schedule page.

Manual – Manually calculate reallocation for demand orders using the Reallocate Items page.

  • Inbound shipment in supply allocation

If we want to set up the inbound shipment in our supply allocation the following features must be enabled

Go to Setup > Company > Setup Tasks > Enable Features.

 Transactions subtab check the following features enabled or not

Purchase Orders

Advanced Receiving

Inbound Shipment Management

Items & Inventory tab, check the following

Advanced Bin/Numbered Inventory Mgt

Advanced Inventory Management

Landed Cost and save.

After enabling all those features we can use inbound shipment in supply allocation.
