Waterworks would like to customize the Advance PDF template for the Return authorisation record.
Requirement
As per the client request, we need to customize the Advance PDF template of the Customer return authorisation record. The template should be similar to the credit note PDF template with some minor changes.
Our Solution
Based on the requirement, we need to customize the existing template of the return authorisation record. The pdf template should be similar to the credit note template which is already customized in the account. We can use the same layout for the development.
The following changes should be reflected in the newly created template.
- Change Title of form from ‘Credit Note’ to ‘Return Authorization’
- Change label from ‘Ship To:’ to ‘Ship From:’
- Change label from ‘Credit Request No.’ to ‘PO’
- Change terms and conditions text – text TBA
Also remove the following fields from the template
- Amount Used
- Amount Remaining
Need to add the following field in the template
- REASON FOR RETURNS {custbody9} – Label ‘Reason’
- Authorized Field – Label ‘Authorized By’
Notes
- We can use the credit memo/credit note print as a sample/mock-up for the PDF template development.
- We will only update the mentioned changes only in this scope and rest of the mapping will be same. If the existing mapping which is similar to the credit note is not working, we will keep that field as blank for now.
- There is not customized template for the return authorisation and so we need to construct the same from the scratch.
- The fields “REASON FOR RETURNS” & “Authorized Field” placement is not defined and so we can place the fields as appropriate position during the development.
- We haven’t found the “Amount Used” and “Amount Remaining” fields are in the existing credit note and return authorization record. So, no need to remove that fields from the printout.
- We can replace the “terms and conditions” text from the footer section.
- The font type and font size should be similar to the credit note print.
