Resolve Error: “You must provide a password to give this person access to your account.” When Providing Access to a Contact of a Company

One of our clients, while editing a customer record and giving contact access to the customer center they would receive the error:” You must provide a password to give this person access to your account.”, even when both contact password fields are entered.
When they enter the password and click save, they get this notification and again tried on clicking on notifying only and it gives the same response, They have never seen this before.

Solution:

This error might be caused if the customer’s password has expired. This issue can be resolved by updating the password for the main customer or company.

1. Navigate to Lists > Relationships > Customers 
2. Click Edit the customer
3. Click the Access tab under the System information subtab
4. Checkmark the ‘Give Access‘
5. Checkmark the ‘Manually Assign or Change Password‘
6. Enter a password
7. Enter the Confirm Password
8. Click Save
9. After that, we can grant access to the contact.
