Proposal summary
This proposal covers the scope of addinga dropship virtual location in the item line of SO if it is a dropship item.
Requirement
The requirement is to automatically add the fulfillment location of dropship item lines as the “Drop Ship (Virtual)”location in sales orders.
Also drop ship orders still appear in the fulfilment screen is there a way so we can set all drop ship products to allocate to drop ship Virtual warehouse to keep these separated?
Our Solution
As a solution to the requirement mentioned, we are planning to create a user event script at the save of Sales order.
The script will trigger the create and edit context of the sales order. In the script we will check the item record of items in each line and in the item record if that specific item is marked as a Dropship item, we will add the location in that item line as “Drop Ship (Virtual) location”.
So in the fulfillment page while filtering locations, Dropship items won’t come under Simplee or SGK location. It will comes only under Drop Ship (Virtual) location.
Assumptions
- We assume that for all the dropship item the following checkbox will be marked as true. For these items only we will set the location as Drop Ship (Virtual) location.
- We won’t be considering the location of other items in the item line in sales order.
- We won’t updating the main level location. We will only updates the line level location.
Risks
- We assume that there won’t be a lot of item lines in sales orders. If so, the saving of sales will get slow
