NetSuite Reports

Reports are available in NetSuite to analyse the data entered in different records. The main types of financial reports available in NetSuite are:-

  • Income statement
  • Comparative income statement
  • Balance sheet
  • Comparative balance sheet
  • Cash flow statement
  • Transaction detail report
  • General ledger report
  • Trial balance

There are also other reports such as banking/budgeting, sales reports, purchase reports, employee change history, reports for vendors/payables, reports for customers/receivables, Inventory reports and so on.

New report:

To create a new report,

Report>New report>Select the type of transaction

  • Enter the title for new report.
  • Select the field on which the report is needed(value to be selected like amount /quantity).
  • Select the format of the report(Summary,detail and matrix).
  • Select how the report subtotal is needed(Component and field). Click save.

New financial report:

To create a new financial report,

Report>New financial report>Select the type of report.

The main report type includes an income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement.

  • Edit the layout of the report. Add or remove financial rows needed. Apply a formula for the financial row if needed. Edit the format of a header row and summary row if needed.
  • Add or edit the columns of the report.
  • Add filter for the report
  • Add sorting option if needed.
  • Under more options, give access to different roles to this report.

Recent reports:

Recent reports option in the reports tab will show the reports opened recently.

Saved reports:

Saved reports will list all reports which have saved.

Report customization:

Customizing a report will help to arrange the data in the report in the required format. Column and row fields can be added in the report. Under the filter tab, add the filter needed to apply in the report. To sort the data in the report, add the sort field. In more options, additional options are available such as giving access or set the audience to the report. Give the name of the report. Click save.

Reports can also be created through saved searches. Report>searches>saved searches.

The reports can be filtered in period wise and also subsidiary wise. Financial reports such as income statement and balance sheet can be shown the period as column wise.

In the preview page, options are available to show the report in the grid. The report can be expanded and collapsed using the icons at the bottom of the report. Graphs can be added for the report, by clicking the icon for the graph at the bottom of the report. The report can be exported in excel, pdf, word and CSV. The report can be printed and also can send as mail.

Scheduled report
The report can be scheduled to automatically send emails to the managers when running the report. Select the schedule option at the bottom of the report page. Enter the name of the report, date and starting time to run the report. Check the Run Report More Than Once box if you would like the report to run multiple times. If this box is checked, then scheduling options have to select. This includes:-

  • Daily event
  • Weekly event
  • Monthly event
  • Yearly event

Enter the start date and stop date of running the report. If the end date is not needed , then check the box ‘No end date’.

Add recipient of the mail in the recipient tab. Enter the date and time to send the report. Then save the schedule.
