When deleting an Inbound shipment in Transit error shows “You cannot delete item already associated with an ownership transfer.”

Scenario
An Inbound Shipment in In Transit status is being deleted but the error “You cannot delete item already associated with an ownership transfer.” comes up when ownership has already been transferred.

Solution
This may occur due to a separate Ownership Transfer record which is being created when ownership is transferred to the company.

Navigate to Transactions > Purchases > Create Inbound Shipment > List
View the Inbound Shipment to be deleted
Under Items tab, locate Related Transactions column
Click the link under Related Transactions
On Related Transactions record, an Ownership Transfer record is listed. Click the link for the Transaction Number
Edit the Ownership Transfer record
Go to Actions and click Delete
Go back to the Inbound Shipment to be deleted and click Edit
Go to Actions and click Delete
