Scenario:
If a user already has an account and tries to create a new account using
the same email address + but a different password the system will not notify
him that an account already exists for that email address and will create a
new lead in NetSuite which results in creating duplicates.
Solution: notify the user an account already exists with that email and enforce
reset password as an option.
For Implementing this feature in NetSuite we need setup and enable
duplicate detection features in Netsuite.
Step 1
● Go to Setup > Company> Enable Features
● Under the Web presence sub-tab Check the Check box “WEB SITE
DUPLICATE EMAIL MANAGEMENT”
Step 2
● Go to Setup> Company> General preference
● There is an option “WEB SITE DUPLICATE EMAIL MANAGEMENT”
Set the option to “Enable Duplicate detection”
Step 3
● Go to Setup>Company>Duplicate Detection
● Check all these boxes and we can also add additional fields of
the records for comparing duplicates.
This way we set up duplicate detection for accounts on the website.
