Show Unfulfilled Items on Invoices
NetSuite has an Accounting Preference available to not show Item Lines that are not yet fulfilled in Invoices: Show Unfulfilled Items on Invoices This preference works hand in hand with the Invoice in Advance of Fulfillment Accounting Preference.
Show unfulfilled Items on Invoices
Check this box to have your invoices show items that have yet to be fulfilled.
Invoice in Advance of Fulfillment
Check this box to invoice your customers for the full amount prior to the complete fulfillment of an order. With this preference, you can invoice your customers in advance for an entire order that is shipped in parts.
Here are the illustrations that will help better understand the behavior of the Accounting Preferences:
SALES ORDER:
Item A = Qty: 2
Item B = Qty: 1
ITEM FULFILLMENT:
Item A = Qty: 2
1.Invoice in Advance of Fulfillment = True, and Show Unfulfilled Items on Invoices = True
- When the Sales Order is billed, all items in the Sales Order can be Invoiced even if they have not yet been shipped then the invoice shows:
Item A = Qty: 2Item B = Qty: 1 - When the Item Fulfillment is billed, all the items can be Invoiced even if they are not in the Item Fulfillment record Invoice shows:
Item A = Qty: 2Item B = Qty: 1
2.Invoice in Advance of Fulfillment = False, and Show Unfulfilled Items on Invoices = False
- When the Sales Order is billed, only the Shipped items can be Invoiced the Invoice will show as:
Item A = Qty: 2 - When the Item Fulfillment is billed, only the items Fulfilled/Shipped can be Invoiced then the invoice shows as:
Item A = Qty: 2
3.Invoice in Advance of Fulfillment = True, and Show Unfulfilled Items on Invoices = False
- When the Sales Order is billed, all items in the Sales Order can be Invoiced even if they have not yet been Shipped. then the invoice shows as:
Item A = Qty: 2Item B = Qty: 1 - When the Item Fulfillment is billed, only the items Fulfilled/Shipped can be Invoiced then the Invoice shows as:
