The error “The template cannot be printed due to the following errors: The string “–” is not permitted within comments” is usually encountered if an Advanced PDF Template is being used as a printing type of the transaction. It is a reserved character and it is being considered as part of the source code on the Advanced PDF Template. To resolve this, remove the “–” on the Source Code of the Advanced PDF/HTML Template.
Solution
- Navigate to Customization > Forms > Advanced PDF/HTML Templates
- Preferred Advanced PDF/HTML Template: Click Edit
- Top Right Corner: Toggle Source Code
- Remove any reference of “–“
- Click Save
