After exploring various potential methods for chaining the item, we have identified three possibilities, including Kitting, that can be used in different scenarios. Please refer to the information about the available options. If you could specify how the chaining item will be used in your business, we can recommend the most appropriate one for your specific needs.
1. Upselling of Items
This can be done in the transaction record and the customer record. Related Details below,
This Upsell Items popup window lists items and item categories that historically sold well with the items on the transaction.
Each upsell item displays with correlation and count values to help you determine the best upsell candidate. An upsell item’s correlation is the percentage of customers that purchased both the upsell item and the items you selected on the transaction. The count displays the number of transactions in which the items are purchased together.
For example, a sales rep creates a sales order for a new laptop. After they select the laptop on the Items subtab, they click the Upsell Items button. At the top of the Upsell Items list, they see that 13% of transactions that include this model of laptop also include wireless routers. They ask the customer if they are interested in a router, and if so, they add it to the order.
The upselling we have created manually, the auto-suggestions will not be working in it.
2. Related Items and correlation
NetSuite has a feature called “Related Items” that can be used to suggest compatible items or accessories that a customer might also need when they select a primary item, such as a camera. The related item and correlation only can be used when SCA is implemented in the Netsuite.
With the Related Items feature in NetSuite, you can define relationships between items, such as “compatible with,” “accessory for,” or “required for,” which are then displayed to customers as they shop online. When a customer selects a primary item, such as a camera, the Related Items feature can automatically suggest compatible lenses and other accessories that the customer might also need to complete their purchase.
The Related Items feature in NetSuite can help to increase sales by making it easy for customers to find and purchase complementary items. It can also help to improve customer satisfaction by ensuring that customers have all the items they need to use their primary items effectively.
3. Kit Items
NetSuite does have a feature called “Kitting” that allows you to create a bundle or package of items that are sold together as a single item. This is similar to the “chaining items”, where based on an input item, other items can be brought in to make up a package.
With the Kitting feature in NetSuite, you can define a bundle of items that are sold together, and when a customer orders that bundle, all the component items are automatically added to the sales order. You can also specify the quantity of each item that is included in the bundle. Kitting can be used for a variety of purposes, such as creating product bundles, promotional packages, or assembly items that are manufactured from component parts.
