Access to Modify Exchange Rates

In business, dealing with multiple currencies is a common occurrence. The default exchange rate for a transaction is based on the currency selected on the related entity (such as customer or vendor) record and the transaction date. This default is the rate in the Currency Exchange Rates list for the selected currency effective as of the transaction date. To accurately reflect currency conversions and exchange rates, client needs the access to edit exchange rate in transactions.

To allow users to modify the value in the Exchange Rate field for non-base currency transactions, administrators must follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Setup menu and select “Users/Roles.” From there, choose “Manage Roles.”
  2. Locate the role that requires permissions for modifying currency-related fields. Click on the “Edit” option for that specific role.
  3. Navigate to the “Permissions” tab.
  4. Within the Permissions tab, click on the “Lists” option.
  5. Locate and select the “Currency” permission.
  6. Select “Edit” to grant users the ability to modify currency-related fields.
  7. Click on the “Add” button to add the Currency permission with the specified edit level to the role.
  8. Then Save the record.
