Bank data import

There are two ways to import bank data:

  • Automatic import: On the format profile page, administrators can directly connect to financial institutions and automate bank data imports on a daily schedule.
Use a Financial Institution Connectivity Plug-in to automate bank data imports. You can either use standard plug-in available through the Bank Feeds Suiteapp or develop a custom plug-in yourself.
To automate import using a custom plug-in:
    • Develop and upload a custom Financial Institution Connectivity Plug-in.
    • Develop and upload a custom Parser Plug-in.
    • Create a financial institution record.
    • Add a format profile to the financial institution record.
    • Configure the format profile for direct connectivity to a financial institution:
      1. From connectivity method list, select a custom Financial Institution Connectivity Plug-in.
      2. From Transaction Parser list, select a custom Parser plug-in.
      3. From connectivity configuration subtab, configure a connection to a financial institution.
      4. From Account mapping subtab, map your financial institution accounts to corresponding accounts in Netsuite.
      5. Click save
  • Manual import: On the statement file import page, download a bank statement file from your financial institution and then import it into Netsuite. There are three manual import methods:
    • Importing using a Financial Institution record : Go to your financial institution website and download your bank or credit card statement in the appropriate file format. Choose file format based on whatever format profiles and transaction parsers you have configured.
Go to Transactions > Bank > Import Online Banking Data > Choose file > Select financial institution > Select financial institution record > Click Import
When the import process completes, Click Match Bank Data to reconcile.
    • Importing using Default Parsers: Go to your financial institution website and download your bank or credit card statement in the appropriate file format.
Go to Transactions > Bank > Import Online Banking Data > Choose file > Choose Import with default parser > Select bank > Click Import
When the import process completes, Click Match Bank Data to reconcile.
    • Importing using the Bank Connectivity Plug-in : Follow this procedure if you want to forgo the process of uploading bank statement files and download files locally from a secure server. Provided that your financial institution can generate a file to a specific location, like a Secure File Transfer Protocol (sFTP) server, the Bank Connectivity Plug-in can get the file and upload it to Netsuite.
Go to Transactions > Bank > Import Online Banking Data > Click Connectivity Plug-in subtab > Select Bank connectivity plug-in > From financial institution list, select a financial institution record > Select format profile record > Click Import
When the import process completes, Click Match Bank Data to reconcile.
