Resolve Error: “An Unexpected Error Has Occurred.” on Duplicate Merge Page

User is unable to merge two customer records. Whenever the user tries to do this, the following error message appears: “An unexpected error has occurred.” The unexpected error may be caused by various reasons. As an initial fix, user can try the following as the alternate solution.

Solution
  1. Login as Administrator
  2. Navigate to Lists Relationships Customers
  3. Duplicate Customer Record: Click Edit
  4. Actions Dropdown: Click Make Copy
  5. Copy of Duplicate Customer Record: Click Edit
  6. Click Merge
  7. Master Customer Record: Select original record
  8. Click Merge
  9. Click Ok

Note: You will be navigated to the Duplicate Resolution Status. The merge may take some time to complete. Periodically click Refresh until the merge completes. If the merge is successful, you may now delete the first duplicate record as it already has been copied and merged into the master record.
