Hide Standard Fields and Subtabs of an Entity Record when using a Custom Role

Scenario

The administrator created a Custom Role with Full Access for their developer to access the account and perform different type of customization. The administrator only want their developer to access the customization and have limited view access on the records. The standard field (e.g. Tax ID) and the subtab Bank Payment Details will be hidden for the Developer Custom Role.

Solution

I. Create a new Custom Entry Form:

  1. Navigate to Customization > Forms > Entry Forms
  2. Preferred Entry Form: Click Customize
  3. Name: Enter Developer Vendor Form
  4. Click Subtabs
  5. Show Box: Set uncheck beside the subtab you want to hide
  6. Click Fields
    • Show Box: Set uncheck beside the standard fields you want to hide
  7. Form is Preferred: is unchecked
  8. Store Form with Record: is unchecked
  9. Click Save

II. Create a Custom Role with Full Access:

  1. Navigate to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles > New
  2. Name: Enter Developer Custom Role
  3. Center Type: Select Classic Center
  4. Click Forms
    • Enable: is checked corresponding to the entry form
  5. Click Save
