Where does the recipient list come from?

Trying to email contacts through the following means with a template, but when I open the drop down list of recipients there is only one entry.

Where is this list populated from? Because adding new recipients appears to be for vendors, customers and more which all already have emails associated to them.

Solution

The recipient list comes from Contacts associated with the Customer/Vendor/Entity record from which the email originates. (subentities and their contacts will also be available)

IE- An invoice Recipient list will include contacts for the Customer defined on the invoice.

A PO recipient list will include Contacts for the vendor defined on the PO.

You can create new entities other than contacts in order to copy them on an email, but they won’t then appear as available to choose in the list. You can also add email addresses only to the CC list, without actually choosing an entity record within NetSuite.
