Proposal Summary
This proposal outlines a comprehensive solution for automating the resend of order XML files to footprint.
Requirement
Currently the resend of order XML files are handled manually. Corp Design wants a functionality to automatically upload the order XML file to respective SFTP folders whenever there is a need for it.
Deliverables
To achieve the automation of XML files, resend to footprint, we will do the following,
- Currently we are creating a custom record entry for each footprint file transfers.
- We are creating custom records named “Craneworld Outbound Order Sync Notes” for Sales Orders and “Craneworld Inbound Order Sync Notes” for Purchase Orders.
- We can navigate to these records by clicking on the “Custom” subtab on the corresponding orders.
- For a Sale Order “Craneworld Outbound Order Sync Notes” will appear on the Custom subtab of the Sales Order record.
- For a Purchase Order “Craneworld Inbound Order Sync Notes” will appear on the Custom subtab of the Purchase Order record.
- These records include the “PROJECT CODE”, “ORDER LOOK UP CODE, and the “XML FILE” that we have sent to footprint.
- We can include a “CHECK BOX” named “RESEND FILE TO FOOTPRINT” in the custom records to include the resend of XML files to footprint.
- We can check this RESEND FILE TO FOOTPRINT check box to upload the XML file to corresponding SFTP folder according to their PROJECT CODE.
- If we open the record which include the file to be resend to footprint, we can check the RESEND FILE TO FOOTPRINT check box and save the record.
- When the “Save” button is clicked a confirmation popup will be displayed on the page to alert and confirm we are resending this XML file to footprint.
- After the confirmation the XML file will be uploaded automatically to the corresponding SFTP folder.
- After sending the XML file to footprint this RESEND FILE TO FOOTPRINT will be unchecked automatically.
- This can only be used to resend the already sent XML files without any updates in the file.
Assumptions and Limitations
- We can use the mention automation technique only to resend the already send XML files without any changes in the file.
- If you have any changes, like changes in the orders or we have to send only some of the item lines in the orders as others are already processed in footprint, we must change the XML file before resending is performed.
- For these types of scenarios, the automation is not applicable, and you should inform us for updating the XML file and resending it to footprint
