Resolve “Content on this page is missing crucial information…” error when signing into SMT using a Custom Employee Role

Scenario

Error “Content on this page is missing crucial information. This can happen if you manually edit or delete content records in NetSuite. To correct the problem, in NetSuite, delete the CMS content record with ID x and use Site Management Tools to add the content back to this site” is being received when signing into Site Management Tools (SMT) using a Custom Employee Role. 

Solution

1. Navigate to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles
2. Click Edit on the Custom Employee Role used to login to SMT
3. Navigate to the Permissions tab > Custom Record subtab
4. Record:
5. CMS_HTML: Set Permission Level to Full
6. CMS_IMAGE: Set Permission Level to Full
7. CMS_MERCHZONE: Set Permission Level to Full
8. CMS_MERCHZONETWO: Set Permission Level to Full
9. CMS_TEXT: Set Permission Level to Full
10. Click Save

Note: Before testing the solution, make sure to log out and back in as well as try a different browser to make sure the error is not caching.
