How to Set Up an Authenticator App for 2FA Settings

To update 2FA setup to use an authenticator app:

1. This option is only applicable to those users who have their backup codes. To proceed, reset your current 2FA Settings by clicking your Home icon and looking for a portlet called “Settings”. Click the ‘Reset 2FA Settings’ link to proceed.

2. Enter your ‘Current Password’ and any unused backup code then hit the Reset button.

3. Log out then log back in to set up your 2FA. The initial verification code will be sent to your registered email address in the system.

4. Once you enter the code in the ‘Verification Code’ box you will receive from your mail, the system will guide you in setting up your 2FA step by step. 

5. You should use an authenticator application for roles that require 2FA. You can select an authenticator app from the vendor of your choice, as long it complies with the OATH TOTP standard. The following mobile phone apps are suggested:

Oracle Mobile Authenticator

Google Authenticator

Microsoft Authenticator

5. Scan the QR code on your computer using your selected authenticator app and finish the setup.

6. Keep a copy of your Backup Codes for your future use.
