Proposal Summary
This proposal covers the added shipping cost based on the address provided on the
checkout page.
Requirement
We require that for orders with Canadian addresses, a $12.50 shipping charge be
automatically applied at checkout if the subtotal is less than $49.00 before tax. Similarly, for
orders with USA addresses, a $15.50 shipping charge be automatically applied at checkout if
the subtotal is less than $99.00 before tax.
Our Solution
Shipping cost
We can add the shipping cost for USA and Canda in the configuration record. So, it can be
updated from the configuration in future id any changes required in future. We need to
create a transaction body field to store the shipping cost value.
If a customer chooses Canadian addresses, a $12.50 shipping charge be automatically
applied if the subtotal is less than $49.00 before tax. Similarly, if a customer chooses a USA
addresses, a $15.50 shipping charge be automatically applied if the subtotal is less than
$99.00 before tax.
Based on the address selected we will store the shipping cost and will display the shipping
cost in the order summary section and sales order.
Assumption
Assume that all customers have a ‘website’ field in their customer profile, which refers to
the domain they are associated with.
