Viewing Audit Log Reports in QuickBooks

QuickBooks provides a way to view audit log reports for the past seven years. Here’s how to access and filter these reports:

Accessing the Audit Log

  1. Navigate to the Reports Section: Open QuickBooks and go to the Reports section.
  2. Search for the Audit Log: In the search option, enter “Audit log.”
  3. Select the Audit Log Report: Click on the “Audit Log” report that appears.

Filtering the Audit Log

The audit log can be filtered by user, date changed, or event type. For instance, to view the full audit history of deleted transactions:

  1. Filter by Event Type: Select “Deleted/voided transactions” in the event type filter.
  2. View Audit History: The full audit history of the deleted transaction will be displayed.

Viewing Changes in Individual Transactions

Changes made to individual transactions can also be viewed:

  1. Open the Transaction: Go to the specific transaction the down tab of the record.
  2. Select Audit History: Choose “Audit history” to view the changes made to the transaction.
