Fix the “Gateway Timeout Error” in Resource Allocation

Scenario

The error is being thrown when updating Resource Allocation End Date.

The Resource Allocation for one employee was incorrectly set up and the End Date was set to 1/22/60×8 instead of 12/13/20×8. The allocation was only for 0:25 hours. The Allocation Type of the Resource Allocation is set to Hard. When user tried to correct the field value, the error is encountered upon saving.

Rationale: The error is encountered because the system is trying to spread out the 0:25 hours over the period up to 1/22/60×8.

Solution

Update the Resource Allocation via CSV Import.

  1. Create a CSV file containing the Internal ID of the Resource Allocation record and the correct End Date
  2. Perform CSV Import
  3. Navigate to Setup Import/Export > Import CSV Records
  4. Scan & Upload CSV File:
  • Import Type: Select Activities
  • Record Type: Select Resource Allocation
  • One File to Upload: Enter Mark
  1. Click Next
  2. Import Options:
  • Update: Enter Mark
  1. Click Next
  2. Field Mapping:
  • Map the appropriate fields
  1. Click Save and Run
