Pinterest Catalog : Prepare your data source-URL link for the hosted data source

A primary data source is a list of your products and their corresponding attributes. Each day, Pinterest ingests this data to create Pins for your products. You may add or delete products included in your data source

You can provide the URL for your hosted data source, or you can manually upload your data source.

Provide the URL link for your hosted data source

Log in to your Pinterest business account from your desktop.

Click the hamburger icon at the top-left of the page.

Under Business, click Catalogs and product groups.

Click Add data source.

Click the Provide URL link tab.

Fill in the details for your data source:

Below Name, provide a name for your data source.

Below Feed URL, enter your data source URL.

Below File format, select your file’s format type.

Below Country/region, select the place where your items are sold.

Below Language, select the language of the content in your data source.

Below Feed login details, enter the Username and Password if your data source requires credentials. This is optional because not all feeds require these.

Below Default currency, select the currency of your products.

Below Default availability, select the default availability setting for your products.

Below Data source ingestion frequency, select how often you want it ingested.

Below Repeat ingestion, select how often you want your data source ingested. The default option is every 24 hours.

Below Start time and Timezone, select the time you’d like your feed ingested. This is optional.

Click Test your data source. This is optional but we recommend you test your data source so you know it’s functioning correctly.

Paste the piece of data source you want to test, including the header, into the box.

Click Validate data source.

If there are errors, they’ll appear below the box. Follow the instructions below What to do to fix them.

If there are no errors, click the chevron-left icon next to Test your data source to return to your data source details.

Click Create Pins.

If you get an error message after you click Create Pins, check the requirements before trying again.

You’ll receive an email from Pinterest about the status of your data source.
