User Is Unable to Create an Estimate From an Opportunity Record Using the Create New Menu

A user, whether using a custom role or an administrator role, is unable to create an estimate from an opportunity record.

Solution

  1. Log in to NetSuite as an Administrator.
  2. Navigate to: Transactions > Sales > Create Opportunities > List
  3. Edit the Opportunity:
  4. Select the opportunity record in question and click Edit.
  5. Verify the Custom Form:
  6. Check if a custom form is being used on the opportunity. This might affect which options are available under the “Create New” menu.
  7. Customize the Form:
  8. Navigate to the Customize option to modify the form.
  9. Form Customization Steps:
  10. Click on Customize Form.
  11. Go to the Tabs section.
  12. Select the Sales tab.
  13. Ensure that the “Show” checkbox is marked under the Sales tab for the estimate/quote option.
  14. Save Changes:
  15. Once done, click Save to apply the changes.

Note:

Once you complete these steps, the “Create New” menu on the Opportunity record should now include the option to create an Estimate/Quote.
