How Credit Memo applied in Customer invoices

In NetSuite, credit memos can be applied to customer invoices through several navigation paths. Here are the main ways to do this:

  1. From the Customer Invoice Record:
  • Navigate to Transactions > Sales > Create Invoices.
  • Open the specific customer invoice you want to apply the credit memo to.
  • Look for the Related Records tab, and then select Credit Memos to apply the relevant credit memo.
  1. From the Credit Memo Record:
  • Navigate to Transactions > Sales > Enter Credit Memos.
  • Create or open an existing credit memo.
  • In the Apply tab, you can select the customer invoice to which you want to apply the credit memo.
  1. From the Customer Record:
  • Navigate to Lists > Customers > All Customers.
  • Select the specific customer.
  • Go to the Transactions subtab, where you can see the related invoices and apply credit memos directly.
  1. Using the Customer Payment Record:
  • Navigate to Transactions > Customers > Accept Customer Payments.
  • When processing a payment, you can apply the credit memo directly in the payment screen.
  1. Via Bulk Processing (if applicable):
  • Use the Bulk Processing feature to apply credit memos to multiple invoices at once, which can be found under Transactions > Customers > Apply Customer Payments.
