Scenario:
Created a custom segment and used the same in Journal transaction. Then using Asset proposal assets were generated from this journal. However, the custom segment in journal did not populate in the asset record.
Solution:
When using custom segments in FAM, we need to ensure the relevant segment is applied to Fixed Asset Management Records and Transactions.
Kindly refer to SuiteAnswers #70166 –
Custom Segments and Custom Fields in Fixed Assets Management Records and Transactions
However, ensure that the Source Transaction Field ID, Proposal Field ID, and Transaction Field ID values (all set to custom segment) are correct. These values must match the internal ID of the custom segment in NetSuite.
If the issue persists after verifying these configurations, the problem might be due to visibility or permissions for the segment on FAM records. Double-check these areas or let me know if you need help verifying specific settings.
Also a couple things to check along the way are:
Permissions and Visibility
- Verify that the Custom Segment is visible on the FAM records, including Asset Proposal, using Role Permissions or Field Visibility settings.
- Check if the Custom Segment is enabled for Fixed Assets Management using the Applies To tab in the custom segment setup.
