Requirement 

Client would like to implement customizations in Invoice PDF., The following points need to be noted:

• Item description to be limited to only 50 characters when displayed in the invoice PDF.
• Shipment ID (Item fulfillment number) info to be displayed under invoice in the invoice PDF
• Forms to be applied will be different according to the customer

Our Solution

Create an advanced PDF template to apply to following transaction forms:

• Furtex Spotlight Invoice form , Furtex Invoice  and SPS invoice form in Invoice record

Invoice PDF Customization

Design a template in the following design

• Include a new field Shipment ID in the PDF sourcing from Shipment ID (field ID : custbody_jj_fl_related_if_num)
• Remove the text “Furtex Limited” under the furtex logo
• Make alignments proper for making UI more attractive
• Apply this PDF to the aforementioned Forms
• Disclaimer needs to come at the bottom of the PDF
• Remittance advice field also need to be included in the PDF

Note:

• Use the existing field Shipment ID (field ID : custbody_jj_fl_related_if_num) in the invoice record 
• Use the existing script JJ FL-4 UE INV Source IF number to Inv (customscript_jj_fl_ue_inv_if_num_inv ) for setting the shipment ID field value which is sourced from  the latest item fulfillment 

Disclaimer Field 

Add a disclaimer field in the Subsidiary record and source this text from the subsidiary record to invoice PDF template. The user can enter the disclaimer message in this custom field which will be added to the invoice PDF.

Additional Recommendation

We can add a custom button in the invoice form so that the user can print the invoice PDF by clicking on the button irrespective of the forms selected as the same PDF will be printed.
