An earlier notification stated that the India Localization SuiteTax Engine SuiteApp will no longer support the NetSuite India SuiteTax Engine plug-in with the next release of the SuiteApp. As a required action, you were advised to use the NetSuite Suite Tax Engine SS2 plug-in.
If you have the NetSuite India Suite Tax Engine SS2 plug-in already enabled in your account but receive the following error message when creating transactions, enable the NetSuite India Suite Tax Engine plug-in instead.
“Permission Violation: You need a higher permission for custom record type India Tax Process Lookup SS2 to access this page. Please contact your account administrator.”
The India Localization SuiteTax Engine SuiteApp will continue to support the NetSuite India Suite Tax Engine plug-in until the issue with the NetSuite India Suite Tax Engine SS2 plug-in is resolved.
Recommended Actions
If you are getting the error message when creating transactions, you can switch back to using the NetSuite India Suite Tax Engine plug-in.
To enable the NetSuite India SuiteTax Engine plug-in:
- Go to Customization > Plug-ins > Manage Plug-ins.
- On the Tax Calculation subtab, check the NetSuite India SuiteTax Engine box.
- Click Save.
To update a subsidiary record:
- Based on the type of account you are using, do one of the following:
- Go to Setup > Company > Classifications > Subsidiaries.
- Go to Set up > Company > Company Information.
- Click Edit.
- Click the Tax Registrations subtab.
- In the Tax Engine field, select NetSuite India SuiteTax Engine.
- Click OK.
- Click Save.
Note: The SuiteApp uses the tax engine plug-in selected on a subsidiary record for tax calculation.
