Using SuiteAnalytics to Create Custom KPIs and Trend Graphs in NetSuite

SuiteAnalytics in NetSuite offers powerful tools to create custom KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and trend graphs that help businesses monitor performance and make data-driven decisions. To get started, navigate to the Analytics > Workbook section and create a new workbook. You can build datasets using real-time data from records like sales, inventory, or financials, and then select relevant fields for analysis. Once the dataset is defined, you can use it to create pivot tables, charts, and KPI scorecards that visualize metrics such as monthly sales growth, order fulfillment rate, or customer acquisition trends.

To create a custom KPI, go to Home > Set Up > Customize Dashboard, and click “Add Key Performance Indicators.” You can define metrics based on saved searches or SuiteAnalytics datasets, apply date filters, and compare against goals or previous periods. Similarly, trend graphs can be added to dashboards by selecting “Trend Graphs” and customizing the data source and time interval (daily, weekly, monthly). These visuals provide quick insights for decision-makers and can be tailored by role, department, or individual preferences.
