Preferences Module: Certifications tab: Configure Settings

Certification Settings contain specific over-arching settings which affect the entirety of the Certification process.

Company Certification Policy:
This is a file containing the company policy on Certification; a valid corporate statement that will be governing the systemwide Certification process. This document should be approved at a high level within the company and then attached to the certification settings. All users involved in the Certification workflow will have the opportunity to download the Policy from a link which is presented when they are certifying an account. A Certification Policy uploaded here will be attached to all newly created accounts, so this should be one of the first steps in configuring Certification within ReconArt.
Certification Policy Description:
A text field which allows for a description of the Certification Policy or additional information which will be presented to the Preparers and Approvers at the time of Certification.
System Certification Statement:
This is a statement that will be attached to accounts that are certified through the System Certification functionality. System Certification can be applied to accounts which experienced no balance activity for a specific period all at once.
Display Balance:
This setting will determine how negative amounts will be presented. The options are Normal (with a negative sign) or Bracketed.

Calculate Aging by Formula:
Determines how the aging of reconciling items will be calculated, the two options are presented with radio buttons.
The options are: Resolution date (or current date if blank resolution) minus origination date, or period end date minus origination date plus one day.

Require reconcilement items description & Require subledger balance description:
Both options concern the balance explanation within the certification template for the given account. This control will only be applied if the relevant template is also being used, so accounts without a Subledger will not require a Subledger balance description, etc.

Allow single level approval:
This feature was provided for specific internal accounts to be certified by the preparer without requiring additional approval. It is not typically used for most deployments.

Show Last Activity Date:
Determines whether to show the last date balance change for the accounts.

Explanation Entries:
Select whether reconciling items are to be entered the opposite or same sign of the balance.

Calculate Due Date and Aging in:
The options are to calculate using calendar days or business days. If business days is selected, company holidays loaded through a Holiday calendar will be excluded from the calculation.

Transfer transaction on certify:
This setting determines how unresolved reconciling items or future resolving items are transferred into the next certification period when an account is certified. The options are: Transfer reconciling items without resolution dates only, or to also transfer reconciling items that have a future resolution date

Show historical data:
Determines if the balance history bar graph will be presented in the certification template, and how far back in time this information will be available.
Options are 3, 6, 9, 12 months.
