For this, we need to create two custom reports one report is the custom balance sheet summary type report. Next is a custom detailed balance sheet. In the detailed balance sheet report, we can add a description field to show the descriptions. The drawback of this is that the added column will show the main description of the memo. But in suite answer, it says that memo means the main level description and the description under the financial record is the line level memo. When we add this description we get the main level description, not the line level. The client compromised on the main level description so this field is added in the custom detailed type balance sheet report. In the first report, the custom balance sheet summary report. We can customize this report and in the more options section, we have an option to change the drill down of the report. In this drill downfield select the second detailed report and save the report. So if we run the first report and then click the particular amount section the drill down of the result will show the detailed report with a description.
Note: we cannot add the income statement report detailed report as the drill down of balance sheet. The report needs to be of the same type to set the drill down of the report. When we create a custom detailed description report we need to be care full about the filter we add. It should not be restricted. And be careful to not modify the second report as it may affect the drill down view of the main report.
