This proposal covers the scope of adding a message/comments field on the checkout page on the Thermogard Website. The message should save to a custom field created in the Sales order.
Requirement
The requirement is to add a message field on the checkout page on Thermogard Website and save the message/comments to the sales order.
Our Solution
A new input field will be created on the checkout payment page to allow customers to add messages, comments, or notes. These messages will then be saved to a custom transaction body field that has been created in the sales order record. The custom field will be of type ‘long text’.
With the assistance of an extension, the messages (comments/notes) can be easily saved to the custom field when the customer places their order.
Assumptions
- A custom transaction body field has to be created in the sales order to store the data.
- We will implement the functionality first in the USA domain and then after confirmation will update in the NZ and AU domains.
