Accurate tracking of item locations is essential for efficient order fulfillment and inventory management. A common problem in NetSuite is the failure to auto-populate the on-hand location in Item Fulfillment (IF) when the inventory location is not specified at the line level of a Sales Order (SO).
The on-hand location in Item Fulfillment (IF) is not auto-populated or displayed upon creation when the inventory location is not specified at the line level of the Sales Order (SO). In such cases, clicking the ‘Fulfill’ button does not pass the inventory location to the IF.
When creating an Item Fulfillment record in NetSuite, it is expected that the on-hand quantity and location information will automatically populate based on the corresponding Sales Order. However, this auto-population fails if the inventory location is not specified at the line level of the Sales Order. As a result, the on-hand location does not appear or update in the Item Fulfillment, leading to potential inaccuracies in inventory tracking.
