The Automatic Location Assignment feature lets you configure NetSuite to assign fulfillment locations automatically to sales order lines.
Enabling Automatic Location Assignment
Navigate to Setup > Company > Enable Features. On the Transactions subtab, under the Shipping & Receiving section, check the Automatic Location Assignment box.
After Enabling, Auto Assign Location button will be enabled in the Item Subtab of Sales Order Lines
After enabling the feature, some setup tasks are needed to be done:
- Configure locations
- Create an automatic location assignment configuration
- Create automatic location assignment rules
- Run automation
- Configure Locations
Navigate to SetUp> Company> Warehouses> Edit a warehouse
Add Location Type as Warehouses
Under Automatic Location Assignment Tab assign Automatic Location Assignment as “Allow Worldwide”
Repeat the same to all warehouses.
2. Set Up Order Management>Advanced Order Management> Auto Location Assignment configuration Subtab.
Setup rules for the subsidiaries and its warehouses.
While configuring rules can be assigned to warehouses
3. Check Run Automation Checkbox under Automation subtab, to run the feature.
