Scenario:
User wants to update the BOM revision by removing the existing Bom components and adding new components through csv import.
Solution:
For removing the existing components, select update and check the ‘override sub list’ checkbox in import options. But if you add all the components in the same file and set the file for import, the existing components will be removed, but only one component (last added) among those to be newly added will remain in the BOM revision as ‘override sublists’ is checked. To overcome this scenario, first include only one component from each BOM revision in the import file and import it with update option and override sublists options selected. After performing this, import another file with all other required components and in import options select Update and uncheck Override sublists checkbox. Now all the required components will be added to the BOM revision.
Import1:
1. Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Record
2. Set Import Type = Supply Chain and Record Type = Bill of Materials Revision
3. Select the CSV file with only one required component.
4.In Import Options, select Update.
6. Check Override Sublist checkbox
7. Map BOM Revision internal id, component and quantity.
8.Run the import
Import2:
1.Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Record
2. Set Import Type = Supply Chain and Record Type = Bill of Materials Revision
3. Select the CSV file with all components, except the one that already has been added.
4.In Import Options, select Update.
5. Uncheck Override Sublist checkbox.
6. Map BOM Revision internal id, components and quantity.
7.Run the import
