Jira Code: SMT-31 – Uploading a second budget
Budget data can be imported to NetSuite using CSV file. To import budget,
Go to,
- Transactions>Financial>Set up budget>Import.
- Select the CSV file and click next.
- Select the mapping fields and click run.
- Check the import status.
To avoid errors in CSV import, the file should be prepared in a proper format. The template of the CSV file is available in budget import page. Download the standard Budgets template file to properly format the CSV file.
While mapping of budget data,
Note that the CSV file field mapped to the required Account field that should contain account names, not account numbers. If you have multiple accounts with the same name and different numbers, so that mapping by name does not work, a workaround is to map a CSV file field containing internal ID values to the Account field.
Check the following while preparing a budget CSV file from the template:
- The year entered on the budget must match the name of the year at Setup > Accounting > Manage G/L > Manage Accounting Periods.
- Note that the CSV file field mapped to the required Account field should contain account names, internal IDs or external IDs, but not account numbers.
When using names, be sure to only use the name that appears in the Name field on the Account record. If you are entering a line item for a subaccount, the Account field must include the parent account name and subaccount name separated by a colon, for example, Checking: Purchases. Use this format for the Account field even if the Use Account Numbers preference is enabled. - If you use the Multiple Budgets feature, Category is a required field. You can create new categories at Setup > Accounting > Setup Tasks > Accounting Lists > New, by clicking the Budget Category link and entering a budget category name.
