REQUIREMENT:
We need a new report created.
Name: Canoe Invoices
Data columns
- Invoice Date
- Invoice Number
- Customer Name
- Canoe Contract Order (this is a custom field check box that we have created and we only want invoices with this box checked to show on the report)
- Pre-Tax Invoice Total
We want to be able to filter the report to show different periods of data, i.e. month, quarter, year, or custom.
SOLUTION:
Limitations of Saved Search:
- To display results at both the consolidated level and subsidiary level, we need to create two separate saved searches.
- Since we are using a custom formula for subtotal calculations, there is a possibility of errors. Therefore, thorough verification is required.
Alternative Solution – Using Reports:
To address this, we can utilize NetSuite’s reporting feature, which allows us to manage both consolidated and subsidiary-level data within a single report.
- Since this report is provided by NetSuite, the amounts are based on system-calculated subtotals.
- The date filter options include Year, Quarter, Period, and Custom, with dates grouped accordingly.
- Added the CANOE Contract Order filter at the bottom of the report.
- Provided access to all user roles.
Assumptions:
- The Pre-Tax amount is considered the subtotal of the invoice transaction.
Risks:
- The current report’s period filter does not support date-wise filtering. While a separate date filter can be added, both filters would need to be updated simultaneously.
- As an alternative, the report has been grouped by date. Users can easily group or ungroup lines by clicking the Up and Down arrows at the bottom of the report.
