Collaborator Accounts in Shopify

When there is a user limit in Shopify, you can utilize collaborator access instead of normal user access. Collaborators don’t count towards your store’s user limit.

To request collaborator access, you need a Shopify Partner account. From this account, you can send a collaborator access request to the store admin. The store admin must accept the request for you to access the store as a collaborator.

Collaborators are Shopify Partners who you’ve allowed to access your store or organization. Collaborators’ accounts are similar to regular user accounts, but offer additional benefits. Collaborator access to your store can be managed and removed from your Shopify admin.

To request the Collaborator access, we need to obtain the collaborator request code from the store admin, available on the User and Permissions page.

After receiving the request code, enter the Store URL and request code to send the request.

Note:

If an error message displays with the text “The role name already exists” when you accept a collaborator request, then you can remove the auto-generated role and assign one or more existing roles to the collaborator to grant them access.

Upon accepting the request, you can log in to the store as a collaborator and access the account.
