Commit the changes to the GitLab using the GitHub desktop application

Steps to commit the changes to the GitLab using the GitHub app, do the following steps

  • Using the GitHub Desktop app, we can commit, push, and pull the details. For that, ‘Add’ the existing repository to the GitHub desktop app and add the repository that is already cloned to the local system.
  • This newly added repository will be under the ‘Other’ category.
  • If we make any changes, that will display on the GitHub app. From there, we can commit and push the changes to the connected branch. And also, this will be attached to the corresponding Jira ticket if we mention that while committing the changes.
