Scenario
Create Sales Orders for Customers placed on hold and with Customer Credit Limit Handling set to Enforce Holds
Solution
Credit Hold is not enforced even if the following settings/preferences are in place:
- Customer Record > Financial tab >Hold = On
- Home > Set Preferences > Transactions tab > Customer Credit Limit Handling = Enforce Holds
This is happening if the Consolidated Payments Feature is enabled and the Parent Customer is not placed on hold manually or automatically if it reaches its credit limit. Check the following below:
1. Setup > Company > Enable Features > Accounting tab > check if the Consolidated Payment Feature is enabled
2. Customer is a subcustomer
3. The Parent Customer is not placed on hold either manually (Hold = On) or automatically (Hold = Auto and the Customer has reached the set Credit Limit)
If all the above are met then the credit hold will not be enforced on the customer. With the Consolidated Payments Feature enabled, the Credit Limit defined for a Top-level Customer is applied to the entire hierarchy. With this feature enabled, Credit Limits set on individual subcustomer records are not enforced. Likewise, manual Credit Holds placed on the Top-level Customer are applied to the entire hierarchy.
