How can we create a group in NetSuite?

To Create a group

Go to List > Relationship > Groups.

Basically, we can create two kinds of group.

  1. Dynamic
  2. Static

Dynamic group

If you select this option, the group membership is automatically updated based on saved search criteria. You cannot add or remove individual members, but you can change the search criteria.

Static Group

In this, you have the option to add specific group members. The membership of static groups does not change automatically, but you can add or remove members at any time.

Only these kinds of members can create a group in the system.

  1. Contact
  2. Employee
  3. Partner
  4. Project
  5. Vendor
  6. Customer

Select the type of group you want to create based on your requirement.

If you are selecting the Dynamic type, you have to select a Saved Search and give a Name for the group. Then the group members will add automatically.

If you are going for the option static type. Give a Name for the group and add the members manually. You can also add the members with a search.
