Before you attempt to import data with the Import Assistant, you need to set up CSV files and review their formatting carefully, to avoid errors that prevent the import and to ensure that data is imported with correct values.
Step 1 Scan & Upload File
Complete the following tasks for step 1 of the Import Assistant:
- Select an import type: Custom Records
- Select a record type for import: Select the name of the custom record here.
- Choose import character encoding: Western (Windows 1252)
- Choose CSV column delimiter: comma
- Select a file for import
- Click Next.
Step 2 Import Options
- Choose data handling for import
- Set advanced CSV import options
Step 3 File Mapping (required only for multi-file imports)
Step 4 Field Mapping
Step 5 Save Mapping & Start Import
If any error occur we can download the error file from setup > import/Export > View CSV import status and can do the import with the corrected file.
