Currency conversion in Workbook

When the currency column in the Workbook consists of multiple currencies, we may need to convert it to a single currency to maintain comparison and consolidation accuracy.

We can use the currency conversion option directly in the workbook for the same.

Note: This option is only available for amount columns in Workbook. It will not be available for non-currency columns nor rows and calculated measure fields.

Click on the three-dot icon beside the amount column. Select currency and choose conversion options.

  • Display Original: displays each amount in the original currency used for the transaction. In table views and pivot tables, this is the default selection for transaction and transaction line fields.
  • Apply Conversion: converts each amount using the currency and date selected on the Convert To window. By default, the Convert To window is set to the current date and the base currency assigned to your account or subsidiary. In charts, this is the default selection for transaction and transaction line fields.
  • Conversion Options…: opens the Convert To window. In the Convert To window, you select the currency and date to use when the Apply Conversion option is selected. The rates used in the conversion are drawn from the table of currency exchange rates set up in your account

The currency conversion option is not available in the dataset. To convert the currency column to a single currency in the dataset, we can either use a formula or we may add currency fields from accounting lines with #currency_consolidated.
