Scenario
Custom Item Field is not populating its value on the generated Sales Order when a shopper submits an order in the web store.
To get the value of the Custom Item Field from Web Order and populate it in Sales Order, make sure that the Custom Item Field is applies to Store Item.
Solution
Create a Custom Item Field:
- Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records & Fields > Item Fields > New
- Label: Enter a preferred name
- Click the Applies To tab
- Inventory Item: Enter a checkmark
- Non-inventory Item: Enter a checkmark
- Service: Enter a checkmark
Click Display tab
- Subtab: Select Main
- Display Type: Select Normal
Click Save
Create a Transaction Line Field:
- Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records & Fields > Transaction Line Fields > New
- Label: Enter a preferred name
Click the Applies To tab
- Sales Item: Enter a checkmark
- Store Item: Enter a checkmark
- Hidden: Enter a checkmark
Click Display tab
- Display Type: Select Normal
Click the Sourcing & Filtering tab, and set the following:
- Source List: Select Item
- Source From: Select custom field
Click Save
