Created custom segments are not showing in financial reports and the amounts are going under unassigned
Enable the feature :Before you can create custom segments, you must enable the feature. Navigate to Setup > Company > Setup Tasks > Enable Features. On the Suite Cloud subtab, check the Custom Segments box and click Save.
How to use the custom segments in reports:
We can add a custom segment as a report dimension to the current report. Select the custom segment in the Column list in the report footer. The selection applies only to the current report, so you need to repeat the selection each time you run the report.
Customizing a report using custom segments:
After having applied a custom segment to a record type, authorized users can reference that segment when customizing reports. We can use custom segments as columns or filters. When you click Edit Columns or Filters in the Report Builder, you can find segments in the Add Fields list. Each segment appears under the label representing the record type where it was applied. Segments are listed alphabetically with other available fields
Why the amounts are showing under unassigned even though custom segments have been created:
After creating custom segments with different values ,apply values to the fields wherever segment fields are showing.We can apply the custom segment created to the transactions. We can apply these segments to the body of the transaction or make them column in a transaction sub list.
The custom transaction column field is used for displaying the line item column of any transaction records.
In the given scenario, if you checked box for the options coming under transaction column field, those custom segments will appear in the transaction sub list. If we don’t select values from the dropdown for custom segment, GL impact page doesn’t show the segment value so naturally null effect on the report too.
