The field level help (or Field Help) helps inform users about the purpose of a specific field. This is why you should always put the field information (under Display subtab) in the Help text-area of custom fields.
For the standard fields, NetSuite already has an informative field help. However, some companies might not find this helpful. Do you want to revise the field level help on standard fields? Do not worry, I got you!
1. Open a record where the standard field is located.
2. Click the standard field’s name.
3. Click the Customize button.
4. Customise the Help Text according to your needs. If Multi-Language is turned on (under Enable Features), you can customise the Help Text for each language.
5. You can tick the Make as default for other forms of the same type to show the same Help Text on other forms of the same type.
6. Click Save.
Once you customise the field level help, it will show a pencil icon in the standard field.
