Would you like to customise the financial layout of the Standard Balance Sheet and Income Statement reports without retaining a new or custom report (e.g., customise the Retained Earnings section, change negatives from minus to parentheses)?
Yes, it is possible using the Row Layout Assignment feature in NetSuite.
1. Open and customise the Balance Sheet or Profit and Loss report.
2. Once you are in the Financial Report Builder, a new layout is set in the Layout field.
3. Customise the layout as needed. Remember the Layout name.
4. Rename the custom report and click Save. You need to do this step to save the layout.
5. Navigate to Reports > Financial > Financial Row Layouts.
6. Enable the Inline Edit and edit the Layout Name of the layout in step 3.
7. Navigate to Reports > Financial > Row Layout Assignment.
8. Enable the Inline Edit and look for the standard Balance Sheet and Profit or Loss. You will know it is the standard if the Edit column shows “Customise” instead of Edit.
9. Replace the Row Layout from Standard Balance Sheet Layout (XX) or Standard Income Statement Layout (XX) to the layout in step 3 or step 6.
10. Delete the custom report created in step 4 (or retain it so you can further customise the custom layout). This step is optional.
After doing the steps above, your standard Balance Sheet and Profit or Loss will use the custom financial layout. This also applies to:
– Cash Statement
– Cash Flow Statement
– CTA Balance Audit
– Multi-Book Balance Sheet
– Multi-Book Income Statement
– Post Closing Trial Balance (if the Period End Journal Entries is enabled)
Notes:
– Test this first in Sandbox before moving to Production.
– Proceed with caution, as this may disrupt existing processes, such as scheduled reports.
