Customizing the Purchase Request Form in NetSuite

When attempting to customize the purchase request form, users may encounter the issue of the form not appearing in the list of available forms. This discrepancy often arises since both the purchase request and purchase order share the same form. The purchase request is typically converted into a purchase order, leading to confusion when attempting to locate the specific form for customization.

For Customizing the Purchase Request Forms:

  1. Navigate to the Forms List: Log in to your NetSuite account and navigate to Customization > Forms > Transaction Forms.
  2. Locate the Purchase Order Form: In the Transaction Forms list, locate the Purchase Order form. This is the form that will serve as the template for both Purchase Orders and Purchase Requests.
  3. Customize the Purchase Order Form: Click on the Customize link next to the Purchase Order form to start customizing it.
  4. Rename the Form (Optional): If desired, you can rename the form to indicate that it’s being used for Purchase Requests. For example, you can rename it to “Purchase Request Form.”
  5. Make Required Changes: Customize the form layout, fields, and other settings as needed to align with your requirements for Purchase Requests.
  6. Save the Customization: Once you’re satisfied with the changes, don’t forget to save your customization..
