We can delete any custom record entry by opening it in ‘Edit’ mode and clicking Actions> Delete. But it is very time-consuming to delete a large number of custom record entries one by one in this method. Another option for deleting multiple records is to use a script with a saved search.
There is an even simpler way of deleting multiple custom record entries through NetSuite UI. For this, follow these steps:
- Open the custom record list page.
- Enable the ‘Inline Edit’ toggle below the filter tab(The button with the label ‘Edit’, refer to the attached screenshot).
- Hold the CTRL key on the keyboard and click on the name of the record entries in the list:

4. Now the records will be selected to delete; Press the delete key to delete the records highlighted with dotted lines. You will get an alert box to confirm the deletion with message: “All selected records will be deleted. Are you sure you want to continue?”
5. Click ‘OK’ to delete or ‘Cancel’ to skip.
NB: You can also hold the Shift key on the keyboard and select the records by clicking the mouse pointer on the first and last records in the list if you want to delete all the records in between. This method will also work for the standard records. But, you have to click on any of the editable fields(like memo) in the list view to select a record.
