Demand Planning – Multiple Lines for Same Item

Queries

We are basing our demand solely on forward dated Sales Orders (this is for a specific part of our business that takes orders for future delivery).

Each Sales Order line for an Item in the Future creates a ‘Planned Purchase Order’ in the Demand plan.

When we go to create a Purchase Order for all ‘Planned Purchase Orders’, NetSuite doesn’t seem to aggregate all requirements for the same Item onto a single Purchase Order line – we have multiple lines on the PO for the same Item (coming from different ‘Planned Purchase Orders’).

Solutions

We have consulted this internally and I was advised that the expected result is an Enhancement logged under 422622 Transactions > Purchases > Enter Purchase Orders > Set item A on first line and set the same item A on the second line, Click Save. Ability for system to combine same items (adding quantity) upon save.
