NetSuite Connector Disadvantages:
- Besides the initial implementation costs, there’s a recurring subscription fee.
- The Shopify-NetSuite connector lacks support for handling item exchanges.
- Updates at the item level on Shopify won’t be accurately reflected in NetSuite due to the connector’s limitations.
- Syncing is only one way from Shopify to NetSuite; changes made in NetSuite won’t reflect back in Shopify.
- The NetSuite connector offers limited flexibility in integration due to being a NetSuite-provided solution.
- Troubleshooting sync errors is challenging as the connector’s functionalities are predefined, and there’s limited access to the system for customization.
Custom Script Advantages:
- After the initial implementation, there won’t be any recurring payments required. Only intila implementation cost will be needed.
- Through custom scripting, the integration can be crafted to handle exchange scenarios within Shopify. Which is not possible through the NetSuite connector.
- Tailoring the custom script allows for accommodating item updates from Shopify and accurately reflecting them in NetSuite, unlike NetSuite Connector.
- Custom scripting enables two-way synchronization. Once a sales order is generated in NetSuite from Shopify, specific updates in NetSuite can be synchronized back to Shopify.
- Custom scripting offers full flexibility, as it’s designed according to user needs.
- Since we designed the custom script, any errors or new requirements can be incorporated into the integration in the future.
